A Restaurant Born from a Royal Vision

Mom Tri's Kitchen is the dining heart of Mom Tri's Villa Royale, a luxury boutique resort on the headland between Kata and Kata Noi beaches in Phuket. The property itself is a personal creation of Mom Luang Tridhosyuth Devakul — Harvard-educated architect, artist, and descendant of King Rama IV — who first built a simple thatched-roof bungalow on this hillside and, over the years, expanded it into one of the island's most distinctive retreats. The restaurant carries that same spirit: deeply personal, rooted in place, and shaped by decades of considered taste.

The Setting

The dining room occupies multi-level terraces surrounded by lush tropical garden, perched directly above the Andaman Sea with unobstructed views of Kata Noi's white sand beach below. It is one of the more genuinely spectacular dining positions in southern Thailand — the kind where the view competes seriously with what arrives on the table.

Thai and Continental on the Same Menu

The kitchen draws on both Thai and French-influenced continental traditions, offering menus for lunch and dinner that move between the two without forcing a choice. The breadth is deliberate: guests return, the restaurant suggests, to work through the full range. Breakfast, served from 7:00 to 10:30, extends the offering further — freshly baked breads and pastries, an egg station, Asian delicacies, cheese, and cold cuts, all taken with that same sea view.

The Wine Cellar

The wine program is what earned Mom Tri's Kitchen its place on the international map. With over 750 labels, the cellar holds a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence — one of the publication's most prestigious distinctions, and one the restaurant held for eight consecutive years beginning in 2004. Wine director George Ciret, who grew up between wine cases in his parents' Paris shop, has shaped the collection over decades alongside Mom Tri himself. At any given time, 18 different labels are available by the glass, rotating regularly to encourage discovery.

Seashell Bar & Veranda Lounge

Adjacent to the restaurant, the Seashell Bar and Veranda Lounge serves crafted cocktails and international drinks with the same panoramic outlook over Kata Noi. Live piano runs on selected evenings, and happy hour falls between 17:00 and 19:00 — a natural pause before dinner as the sun drops into the Andaman.
