The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

A New Standard for Cantonese Dining in Taichung

Din Yue Restaurant — known in Chinese as 頂粵吉品 — arrived on the Taichung dining scene in the first half of 2020 with a clear ambition: to set a higher bar for upscale Chinese dining in Taiwan. The concept is built around six pillars the restaurant defines for itself — Cantonese cuisine, premium business banquets, private dining rooms, grand weddings, event planning, and a private wine cellar. Together they form what the restaurant describes as an integrated fine-dining destination rather than a single-purpose restaurant.

Cantonese Craft at the Center

The kitchen team sources prized ingredients from near and far, bringing what the restaurant calls a "private chef spirit" to every table. The cuisine is rooted in the Chaozhou-Cantonese tradition — a style known for its precision with seafood, restrained seasoning, and respect for ingredient quality. That commitment to Cantonese cooking has drawn serious food lovers looking to explore the deeper registers of Chinese gastronomy.

Private Rooms and the Wine Cellar

Din Yue holds the distinction of operating the largest number of private dining rooms of any standalone Chinese restaurant in Taiwan, with 19 VIP suites alongside an open bald-cypress seating area. Rooms can be configured for intimate dinners or larger gatherings, with a private-chef customization option available. The wine program is equally serious: the restaurant's Taibai Wine Cellar is a smart, climate-controlled storage space stocked with curated selections — and it earned Din Yue a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2022, a recognition that underscores the depth and curation of the list pairing with its Asian and Cantonese menu.

Beyond the Table

Din Yue regularly hosts wine-pairing dinners that have attracted rare bottles and notable producers to Taichung — including events the restaurant has described as historic evenings in Asian wine culture. Seasonal menus, festive gift sets, and takeaway options extend the experience beyond the dining room, while the venue's full event-planning capabilities make it a destination for weddings and corporate functions alike.
