The story
Pink Bistro is the project that restaurateurs Linda, Janne Åhman, and Magnus Svensson have been building toward. After running Harry's in Västervik, the three took everything they had learned about food, hosting, and people — and distilled it into something new. As they put it themselves: "Our love and passion for hospitality, food, and people is always the focus." The result is a bright, open bistro on Fiskaretorget, right in the heart of central Västervik, with views across Gamleby Bay.
White Guide 2026 recognised Pink Bistro as a recommended restaurant, noting how the trio have turned the space into a genuine meeting place for the whole town — students, families, after-work crowds, and retirees all find their way here.
Two interconnected dining rooms and a beautiful outdoor terrace make up the bistro. The atmosphere is deliberately warm and inclusive — "a place of joy, warmth, openness, and playfulness," where guests are encouraged to arrive exactly as they are. The bar offers a front-row seat to both the drink selection on the golden bar shelf and the water beyond.
One of the more personal touches at Pink Bistro is the way it draws on local food culture. The menu pays tribute to the classic grillad med hälften av varje — a grilled sausage with half mashed potatoes and half fries — a dish tied to Åhmans korvlåda, a Västervik institution with which Janne has a direct family connection. It is comfort food elevated by care rather than technique, and it speaks to the bistro's broader philosophy: that familiar flavours carry memory, identity, and belonging.
"Your favourite dish tells you who you are and where you come from," the team writes. That idea runs through everything here.
Pink Bistro serves lunch on Fridays and Saturdays, with dinner from Monday through Saturday. The outdoor terrace operates on a first-come basis, while indoor tables can be reserved. For larger private parties and catering, the bistro is well set up to accommodate groups.
