Häktet occupies an 18th-century building on Hornsgatan that once served as a lockup. Thirteen years into its life as a restaurant and bar, it has grown into something considerably harder to categorize than either of those words suggests. White Guide 2026 describes it aptly as a "multi-armed octopus" — a beer bar, cocktail bar, speakeasy, private room, and dining hall operating under one roof with undeniable ambition.

Swedish Cooking with a French Accent

The kitchen draws inspiration from French bistro tradition while keeping its feet firmly planted in the Nordic larder. Local ingredients are the baseline, and the team has a particular affection for small producers — the kind of sourcing philosophy that shows up on the plate rather than just in the marketing copy. The result is Swedish cuisine that feels grounded and considered without being rigid.

The Left Side and the Late Hours

Turn left when you walk in and you reach the award-winning cocktail bar, where the menu is as creative as the atmosphere is relaxed. Music is a genuine part of the Häktet identity: jazz sessions appear regularly on the calendar, and every weekend DJs take over the bar and carry the energy well into the early hours. On Fridays and Saturdays the doors stay open until 3am — a rarity for a place that takes its food this seriously.

Beyond the main dining hall, Häktet offers a kitchen bar, a Chef's Table, and a Chambre Séparée for private gatherings.
