Bistrot Paname

A slice of Paris on Hagagatan: frog legs, snails, choucroute, and red wine in generous glasses at this White Guide-recognised Stockholm bistrot.

The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Stockholm's Most Parisian Corner

Walking into Bistrot Paname on Hagagatan 5 is, as the White Guide puts it, like stepping straight into a Parisian feel-good film. The cook and the waitress banter in French across the bar, the wine comes in proper glasses, and the hum of conversation rises steadily as the evening darkens outside the windows. When the server bids you farewell with a theatrical blown kiss, it feels entirely right.

What's on the Plate

The kitchen is small, the menu rooted in French classics: frog legs, omelette, snails, choucroute. These are dishes made with the confidence of a place that knows exactly what it is — no detours, no reinvention for its own sake. Just honest French cooking executed in a tight space and served with character.

The Atmosphere

Bistrot Paname does not take reservations. If the dining room is full — and it often is — you are welcome to eat at the bar, which, given the spirit of the place, is arguably the better seat anyway. The doors open Tuesday through Friday from 17:00 and Saturday from 18:00, staying open until 01:00, making it one of the few spots in Stockholm where a proper French dinner can stretch comfortably into the small hours.

The White Guide's 2026 recognition lands here not as a surprise but as confirmation: this is a room worth being in.
