Acaza

Stockholm's most devoted Portuguese kitchen, in a brick-clad corner spot near Odenplan. Rustic, heartfelt cooking and an all-Portuguese wine list.

The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Two Spaces, One Portuguese Heart

Near Odenplan, in a brick-clad corner building on Upplandsgatan, Acaza has carved out a rare niche in Stockholm's restaurant scene: a wholehearted commitment to Portuguese cuisine. The White Guide recognised it at Fine level in 2026, and the citation captures the place well — this is a neighbourhood restaurant that leans into tradition and home-cooked warmth rather than novelty.

The kitchen deals in rustic, honest plates. A squid salad makes for a lively opener, and the piri piri chicken — juicy and properly seasoned — is the dish to anchor your meal around. Finish with a pastel de nata, dusted with cinnamon, and the evening rounds off exactly as it should. The wine list is entirely Portuguese and carefully chosen, a natural extension of the kitchen's focus.

Tasca Next Door

Acaza has since expanded its footprint without diluting its identity. Tasca, the wine bar at Vidargatan 9 just around the corner, offers a more intimate setting to explore Portugal's wine culture on its own terms. The two spaces share a philosophy: the same Portuguese heart, expressed differently depending on what the evening calls for. Tasca also hosts CLUBTASCA — nights of vinyl DJ sets paired with food and Portuguese wines, where the mood is set as much by music as by what's in the glass.

What to Expect

Acaza is not a place chasing trends. It is a place with a clear point of view — Portuguese cuisine, executed with affection and consistency. Not every dish lands perfectly, as the White Guide noted with characteristic candour, but the overall experience is carried by genuine enthusiasm for a culinary tradition that rarely gets this kind of dedicated attention in Sweden. The all-Portuguese wine selection, outdoor seating, and cocktail options round out an offer that works equally well for a quiet weeknight dinner or a longer, wine-led evening.

White Guide — Fine level
