Celebrated table

Linnéa & Peter

Örnsköldsvik's proudest table: honest Modern European cooking, cheerful service, and a room that feels like everyone's living room.

The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

A restaurant the town keeps coming back to

Linnéa & Peter sits on Fabriksgatan in central Örnsköldsvik, and by its own admission the location is nothing to write home about. What happens inside, however, has made it the most talked-about table on Sweden's High Coast year after year. The White Guide describes it plainly: the food is truly well-cooked, the service cheerful and unpretentious, and the comfort factor high — a combination that earns it a "Very Fine Level" recognition in 2026.

The food

The kitchen draws clearly from the modern Nordic and European tradition. The menu is anchored by an à la carte selection, complemented by a fresh three-course menu that changes every week — details announced through the restaurant's social media rather than fixed in print, which tells you something about how live and seasonal the cooking really is. The team works with as many local producers as possible and stays openly curious about new collaborations and ingredients. Glimpses from their Instagram show asparagus with hollandaise and oyster, oysters with jalapeño, cucumber and ponzu, and sparkling Riesling weeks — small signals of a kitchen that takes pleasure seriously without taking itself too seriously. This is Modern European cooking with a Swedish backbone and genuine curiosity.

The room and the people

What the White Guide singles out, beyond the plate, is something rarer: Linnéa & Peter has built a genuinely familial public living room. Young couples, families with small children, groups of friends, extended-family gatherings — they all find their place here, greeted with a bright "hello!" from staff who are always in the middle of something yet never appear stressed. Not many restaurants at this level pull that off. The restaurant also runs Jack's Bodega, a companion concept, and accommodates private parties, events and takeaway alongside its regular lunch and dinner service.

Why it matters

In a town like Örnsköldsvik, a restaurant that punches at this level — recognised by one of Scandinavia's most demanding food guides — is genuinely significant. Linnéa & Peter earns that recognition not through spectacle but through consistency, warmth, and the kind of honest Swedish-European cooking that makes people want to return next week.

White Guide — Very fine level

At the small restaurant, with its—honestly—dreary location, continuing to be the pride of the town on the High Coast year after year, it's no wonder. The food is truly well‑cooked, the service cheerful and unpretentious, and the factor of comfort high. Whether you're a regular or not, you’re always greeted with a bright “hello!” from the attentive staff who manage the art of always being in the middle of something, yet never seeming stressed. And the guests love it—young and old, couples and families with small children, groups of friends and extended‑family gatherings. Not every restaurant at this level succeeds in creating a familial public living room, and that also says something about the staff’s attitude and importance.
