The story
Since opening in 2021, Tullhuset has occupied one of the most striking addresses in central Norrköping — the historic customs building on Saltängsgatan, right where the city's old toll operations once ran. The Motala Stream mirrors the new-classic façade day and night, and the White Guide has singled it out as perhaps the most charming spot in the city.
Head chef Danny Garcia leads the kitchen, while General Manager Simon Landin oversees the hospitality side of things. Together they pursue what the restaurant describes as an international, elegant experience built on warm, knowledgeable service — the kind where guests feel genuinely looked after rather than processed.
The menu draws on Swedish influences and locally sourced meat of the highest quality, cooked from scratch. A generous à la carte selection means there is room to graze or to feast, depending on the occasion. The philosophy is straightforward: great raw materials, prepared with care and, as the team puts it, "a generous amount of love."
Tullhuset is more than a single dining room. Guldbaren (the Gold Bar) and the wine room, Vinrummet, offer different registers of the same warm atmosphere. One floor up, the private event space Etage hosts weddings, celebrations and corporate gatherings. Outside, the terrace is the place to be from spring through autumn — the view over the Motala Stream is, by any measure, exceptional.
The venue is part of Unika Möten, a Norrköping hospitality group that also operates additional restaurants and a hotel in the city, keeping quality and the guest experience at the centre of everything they do.
