The story
Surflogiet sits directly on the shore at Gotlands Tofta, on the wild west coast of Gotland — and for the past couple of summers it has been on everyone's lips whenever the island's western side comes up in conversation. The draw is easy to understand: wobbly wooden tables, fluttering lace tablecloths, salt air, and the Baltic stretching out in front of you.
The beach bar is the beating heart of the place. Pull up a stool, order a milkshake, a vegan hot dog, one of the burgers, or a creative cocktail, and let the afternoon dissolve. The young team behind the counter brings genuine energy to every interaction — White Guide, which recommended Surflogiet in its 2026 edition, noted that the staff are "cooler and mood-lifting," the kind of people who make you want to come back.
Surflogiet is built around a full outdoor lifestyle concept. Founder and CEO Carl Ewald, together with Head of Operations Hedda Bjelkevik, Restaurant Manager Rebecca Lones and Bar Manager Isak Olsson, have shaped a place where beachfront dining sits alongside glamping lodges, SUP board rentals, yoga, breathwork, sauna sessions and van life. Waking up on the beach in a proper bed — the glamping offer that put Surflogiet on the map — is very much part of the same spirit as lingering over a cocktail at the bar as the sun drops into the sea.
The venue opens each summer for individuals and the general public, and extends its season slightly for groups, conferences and weddings. The setting handles all of it naturally: the same stretch of Gotland coastline that works for a lazy afternoon burger works equally well for an event under the sky. Forbes, Elle and TV4 have all taken notice, as has White Guide — recognition that reflects how thoroughly Surflogiet has made the west coast of Gotland its own.
