The story
Out in Västergarn, on the quieter western side of Gotland, a red building houses one of the island's most rewarding dinner destinations. Stelor Köket is run by the couple My and Linus, and the White Guide has recognised it at a very fine level for 2026 — describing the journey there as worthwhile in itself and the food as "tasty, honest."
The kitchen leans heavily on vegetables, with a menu that reflects the produce-rich character of Gotland's landscape. The setting is charmingly cozy rather than formal, the kind of place where the food speaks plainly and well. Lunch and dinner are both on offer during the summer season, with outdoor seating available when the island weather cooperates.
Stelor is more than a restaurant. The space hosts weddings, music, theatre, private parties, and catering — making it a genuine gathering place for the region. A bar and banqueting rooms round out what My and Linus have built here: something that feels rooted in its place rather than imported onto it.
The kitchen is open weeks 26 through 31, Tuesday to Friday from 17:00 until late.
