The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Wine, Tapas and a View of the Water

Along the car-free quayside promenade of Inre Hamn, where Karlstad's restaurants open their terraces toward the water, Naviero Vinbar has quickly established itself as something worth seeking out. The newest addition to the Naviero family, this wine bar pairs a serious approach to wine with a tapas-focused kitchen — a combination that earned it a Fine level distinction in the White Guide 2026.

A Room That Works

Large windows frame the waterfront, letting natural light fill a space that manages to feel both modern and genuinely comfortable. At the centre of it all sits an open kitchen — a deliberate choice that puts the cooking on display and draws the dining room into the rhythm of the meal. On warm days, the outdoor terrace along the promenade extends the experience toward the quay.

What Comes Out of the Kitchen

The tapas menu leans on well-sourced ingredients treated with care. The gambas arrive trailing a garlic scent that builds anticipation before the plate even lands — and the dish delivers. Mussels come with fries that are crisp outside and yielding within, a small detail executed properly. Oven-baked redfish is grounded by a beetroot purée that adds earthy contrast, while scallops get a clean sear and a champagne foam with pork belly that brings a quiet saltiness to finish.

The Wine and the People Serving It

The staff are attentive and genuinely knowledgeable about wine — the kind of team that can guide a choice without making it feel like a lesson. For a wine bar, that matters as much as what's in the cellar.

White Guide — Fine level

Here in Inre hamn the restaurants line up, each with its own outdoor seating along the car‑free promenade by the quay. You’ll also find the Löfberg Tower, which regularly releases a wonderful aroma of freshly roasted coffee. Two of the restaurants are called Naviero, and its wine bar is the newest. Besides the focus on wine, tapas are the specialty. The venue has large windows overlooking the water and is modern yet homely. In the centre is an open kitchen, and the garlic scent from our gambas reaches the table even before the dish arrives, promising great flavor. We are not disappointed, and the other dishes also deliver. The mussels are served with perfect fries that are crisp on the outside and soft inside. The oven‑baked redfish is accompanied by a beetroot purée that provides a nice contrast. The scallops have a nice seared crust, and the champagne foam with a bit of pork belly adds a pleasant saltiness. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable about wine.
