Järvsö Crêperie

Hearty galettes and sweet crêpes made with hyper-local ingredients, served at two locations in Järvsö – White Guide recommended.

The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Crêpes with a Conscience, Right in the Heart of Hälsingland

With the Ljusnan river drifting slowly past and skiers or cyclists streaming by depending on the season, Järvsö Crêperie has built something quietly remarkable in the Swedish countryside: a place where the food on your plate can be traced to fields and farms within a few kilometres – sometimes just a few steps, to the kitchen garden out back.

The concept is straightforward and honest. Savory galettes and sweet crêpes, made with buckwheat flour sourced from Råglanda Gård in Värmland, form the backbone of the menu. What goes inside them comes from even closer: potatoes from across the bridge, cheese from the local dairy, and ham from Delsbo, just down the road. The restaurant's own kitchen garden – fertilised with scraps from the kitchen in a closed loop as circular as a pancake – supplies produce in season, making the farm-to-table philosophy here less a marketing claim than a daily operating reality. White Guide recognised this commitment, recommending Järvsö Crêperie in its 2026 edition and singling out the raw-ingredient ambition as something genuinely worth the detour.

Two Locations, Two Seasons

Järvsö Crêperie runs two distinct outposts. Crêperiet i Byn – the village location – opens from May through September, with a gravel terrace flanked by large brown sacks of buckwheat flour that make the sourcing philosophy impossible to miss. Crêperiet på Berget sits further up the mountain and stays open through the winter months, December to April, serving galettes and crêpes to skiers straight off the slopes.

Above the mountain crêperie sits the Grandpa Grand Suite, a room designed in collaboration with the lifestyle brand Grandpa and built entirely from natural materials. Magasin RES called it "hard to imagine a better place to put your feet up after a day on the slopes."

A Place That Earns Its Simplicity

There is nothing accidental about the relaxed atmosphere here. The unhurried pace matches the setting – a small town in Hälsingland where outdoor life sets the rhythm. Families, solo cyclists, après-ski crowds, and anyone who cares where their food comes from will find the same thing on the plate: galettes and crêpes prepared with ingredients chosen because they are the best available nearby, not because they are the easiest to source. That consistency, season after season, is what earned Järvsö Crêperie its place among Sweden's recommended tables.
