The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

A Historic Setting on the Kullaberg Coast

Perched above the small coastal town of Mölle, Grand Hôtel is a castle-like building from the turn of the last century that has welcomed guests for well over a hundred years. Since 1963 the hotel has been run by the Dahlberg family, whose warmth is woven into every corner of the property. The dining room at Restaurant Maritime carries the full weight of that history: draped chairs, white tablecloths, maritime paintings on the ceiling, and floor-to-ceiling views across the sea and surrounding mountains that can, on the right evening, be crowned by a sunset that stops conversation entirely.

Swedish Cuisine Rooted in Local Produce

The kitchen at Maritime works with a clear local-ingredient focus, drawing on the seasons and the landscape of the Kullaberg peninsula. The White Guide awarded the restaurant its Fine level recognition in 2026, describing the food as "exciting in flavor with beautiful ambitious details overall." That ambition shows in the way the menu moves between the familiar and the unexpected: lightly grilled Swedish squid arrives alongside a spicy kimchi pancake, and tartare takes on an Asian edge. At the same time, the kitchen knows when to step back — a mild cod fillet in beurre blanc with mussels and seasonal produce, and a perfectly seared Vinslöv entrecote, are exactly the kind of confident, classic Swedish cooking that rewards a long table and good company. Lamb from Kullaberg also features on the menu, a direct expression of the surrounding landscape.

More Than a Meal

The guest list here has always been broad. For a century, bathers and summer visitors dined in grand style; today the same rooms host nature-loving hikers fresh from the Kullaberg trails, golfers, and wedding parties of up to 180 guests. Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel lunched here in November 2018 — a visit the hotel notes with quiet pride. The a la carte menu runs alongside a three-course option with a matching wine package, and breakfast is served each morning as part of the hotel stay. The Maritime restaurant sits within the main building alongside a bar, a large terrace, and lounge — all looking out over Öresund. The hotel is roughly 60 minutes from Malmö and 90 minutes from Kastrup Airport, making it a genuine destination rather than an afterthought.

White Guide — Fine level

You're looking at a castle-like hotel building from the turn of the last century, whose dining room boasts draped chairs, white tablecloths, and beautiful maritime paintings on the ceiling—all framed by a panoramic view of sea, mountains, and the small coastal town of Mölle. For a hundred years, bathers from around the world have dined in grand style here. Even today, nature-loving hikers, happy golfers, and wedding-couple celebrants can be added to the guest list. The food served has a local raw-material focus with touches of international influences. The lightly grilled Swedish squid gets company from a spicy kimchi pancake, and the tartare is rimmed in an Asian style. The dishes are exciting in flavor with beautiful ambitious details overall. Varieties of lamb from Kullaberg start well, but the all-too-acidic, salty sea buckthorn "reindeer hide" becomes a detail too much. Instead, the mild cod fillet in beurre blanc with mussels and seasonal produce, and the perfectly seared Vinslöv entrecote, are two classic, reliable options. A visit to the Maritime restaurant is a wonderful holistic experience—if luck is on your side with a magical sunset that crowns the scene.
