The story
Tec-Tec sits at the water's edge within Anantara Maia Seychelles, looking out over the calm arc of Anse Louis bay. The space was conceived by celebrated designer Bill Bensley, whose signature flair gives the open-sided dining room a dramatic yet relaxed character — one where you can feel the sea breeze whether you choose a table inside or settle directly onto the soft sands.
The kitchen draws its identity from authentic Creole cooking, leaning on organic and locally sourced ingredients as its foundation. That commitment to provenance shows in dishes like the Local Ceviche — freshly caught Red Snapper prepared in coconut milk with fresh chilli — a plate that captures the island's larder in a single, bright mouthful. The Kreol 'Curry' Experience extends the same philosophy, offering chicken, seafood, fish or vegetables in a coconut curry served with steamed basmati rice and assorted local chutneys. For those drawn to the grill, the kitchen turns to Prime Grass-Fed Angus Beef Tenderloin and Salt Bush-fed Lamb Chops, where quality sourcing does most of the talking.
The menu moves fluidly between Creole, Mediterranean, Asian and Indian registers — taste, texture, aroma and presentation balanced in what the restaurant describes simply as "perfect fusion." It is a breadth that feels earned rather than forced, anchored always by the quality of what arrives on the plate.
Tec-Tec holds a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, a distinction that reflects the seriousness of its cellar. The extensive wine list is built around pairing, giving guests considered options to match whichever direction the menu takes them — whether that is a spice-forward Creole curry or a grilled tenderloin from the open flame.
The combination of a considered Mediterranean-inflected wine program, genuine Creole cooking and one of the more spectacular beachfront settings in the Indian Ocean makes Tec-Tec a destination in its own right, not merely a hotel restaurant by default.
