The Man Behind the Name

Wolfgang Zwiener is, by any measure, a steakhouse institution. With over four decades in the industry and twenty-one locations worldwide, Zwiener built his reputation on exacting personal standards — he hand-selects every side of beef served across his restaurants, insisting on USDA Prime Black Angus for its flavor and texture. That same discipline defines every plate at the Newport World Resorts location in Pasay City, where the flagship Manila steakhouse experience lives.

The Steak, from Selection to Plate

The process here is deliberate and unhurried. Beef is dry-aged on premise, then carved to order by the restaurant's own butcher into the cuts that have made Wolfgang's Steakhouse famous: the signature Porterhouse, Prime New York Sirloin, Rib Eye, and Filet Mignon. The results, as the restaurant describes them, are "meltingly tender and juicy steaks served sizzling hot with a perfectly caramelized crust." Beyond the steaks, the menu reaches into fresh seafood — sashimi-grade tuna, Norwegian salmon, Maine lobsters — alongside classic American steakhouse starters like Shrimp and Lobster Cocktails, Fresh Oysters on the Half Shell, and Sizzling Canadian Bacon. Sides like Creamed Spinach, German Potatoes, and Lobster Mac & Cheese round out the table.

The wine program earned a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, recognition that reflects the depth and curation of a cellar that anchors the main dining room.

A Room That Feels the Part

Step inside and the atmosphere is unmistakably that of a classic New York steakhouse transported to Manila. The design draws directly from the original New York locations: a long solid mahogany bar stocked with whiskeys, cognacs, and spirits; wooden planked floors; wood wainscoting; alabaster chandeliers; and a mosaic tile ceiling that echoes the Gustavino tile of the first Wolfgang's location. Grand booths invite you to settle in. Private dining rooms — named Tribeca and Times Square — accommodate groups of up to thirty guests, making the space as well-suited to a business dinner as a celebration.

More Than One Location

The Newport World Resorts address is the original Manila outpost, but Wolfgang's Steakhouse has since expanded across the Philippines, with branches in BGC, Ortigas Center, City of Dreams, Araneta City, Boracay Newcoast, Cebu City, and Iloilo City. Each carries the same commitment to USDA Prime beef and the American steakhouse format that made the brand one of New York's most recognized names in the category.
