Finestra is Solaire Resort Entertainment City's signature Italian ristorante — and by most accounts, one of Manila's most serious addresses for fine dining. Positioned as a luxury destination within the resort, it seats around 120 guests in an atmosphere that calls for smart casual at minimum and rewards those who dress the part. The backdrop is the resort pool and the open horizon of Manila Bay, which shifts the mood of the room as the evening deepens.

Chef Andrea Spagoni and the Kitchen Behind It

The restaurant is led by Chef Andrea Spagoni, whose Michelin-starred career has taken him through Italy, London, New York, and Hong Kong before landing at Finestra. His approach is rooted in restraint and intention — Italian tradition as a foundation, not a constraint. That philosophy has earned Finestra recognition from Philippine Tatler's T.Dining as one of the Top 20 Best Restaurants in Manila, along with a Special Award for Best Service. The kitchen's wine program has drawn its own distinction: a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2024, a mark that reflects both the depth of the cellar and the seriousness with which Italian regional wines are treated here.

The contemporary Italian menu moves through handcrafted pastas, wood-fired pizzas, seasonal specialties, and marbled steaks — including a whisky-aged tomahawk that has become a signature of the house. The Finestra Pensiero degustation offers a structured way through the kitchen's range, while table-prepared tiramisu and a curated grappa selection close the meal on unhurried terms. A Chocolate Trolley adds a touch of theater that fits the room.

Beyond the à la carte, the restaurant builds its calendar around curated experiences: wine pairing dinners inspired by Italy's regions, Venetian-style Aperitivo Nights with free-flowing Prosecco and cicchetti, a Pre-show Express menu timed to the resort's theater schedule, and the Sunday Brunchissimo — a midday Italian spread served from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

The Rhythm of the Room

Live music is part of the Finestra formula every night of the week. Sunday through Thursday, a solo pianist sets the tone with classic and melodic songs. Fridays and Saturdays bring a trio — pianist, singer, and violinist — covering classic English repertoire, some Italian, and light pop. Sunday brunch shifts to a DJ playing 70s and 80s Motown and funky Italian sounds. The programming is deliberate, calibrated to the pace of a long Italian dinner rather than background noise.

Finestra is open for dinner nightly from 5:30 PM, with the Sunday brunch running through early afternoon. Dress code is smart casual to elegant.
