The story
Casa Pisano is an Italian restaurant on Tordenskiolds gate, a short walk from Nationaltheatret, that takes its role as a proper trattoria seriously. The menu covers the classics — pasta, pizza, antipasti, meat and seafood — made with quality ingredients and the kind of care that earned the restaurant recognition from Gambero Rosso, Italy's foremost food and wine authority, in 2024.
What sets Casa Pisano apart from a typical Italian restaurant is the way its spaces are conceived. The dining rooms number seven in total, each one inspired by a family member. Nonna Gianna's kitchen sets a warm, domestic tone, while the rooftop — Valentina's Rooftop — is decorated with flowers and Vespas and feels, in the restaurant's own words, like a small trip to Sicily. Aperol is on hand to complete the picture. The rooftop terrace is open for outdoor seating in spring and summer, making it one of the more distinctive spots for an evening out in central Oslo.
The breadth of what Casa Pisano accommodates is notable. Beyond à la carte dinners and weekend lunches, the restaurant hosts private parties, corporate events, weddings, and large groups across its seven rooms. A dedicated meeting room is available, and catering is offered for events outside the restaurant. Monthly olive oil and wine evenings, run in partnership with Olivenlunden 1830, bring guests together to taste and learn about Italian produce in a relaxed setting.
Vegetarian options are on the menu, and individual dishes can be adapted for vegan guests. Children are welcome, with family-friendly options available. Walk-ins are accepted, particularly earlier in the evening — a rare and appreciated flexibility for a restaurant of this quality.
