The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

An Enoteca con Cucina Rooted in Rome

Campo de' Fiori takes its name and its soul from the famous square near Piazza Navona in Rome — a market place where good ingredients have always been the centre of everything. That same philosophy travels north to Josefines Gate 23 in Oslo, where the restaurant has built its reputation on recipes, produce and wine sourced directly from Italy.

The guiding hand behind the kitchen and the wine list is Fabio Pezzoli, who has personally quality-assured every dish and every bottle on offer. In 2024, Gambero Rosso — the authoritative Italian food and wine guide — recognised Campo de' Fiori as the best Italian restaurant in Oslo, a distinction the team wears with evident pride.

Roman Classics, Done Properly

The menu reads like a love letter to the Roman table. Pasta is made fresh in-house, and the Roman canon is treated with real respect: Cacio e Pepe arrives as Tonnarelli with pecorino, abundant black pepper and fried artichokes with lemon zest; Gricia de Campo — the restaurant's signature dish — pairs pecorino cheese sauce with organic guanciale sourced from Amatrice and a generous hand of black pepper. Pasta Amatriciana uses San Marzano tomatoes, guanciale and pecorino, while the Fettuccine ar Tartufo brings fresh pasta together with real truffle and truffle cream.

Starters lean on quality ingredients: burrata caprese with oven-baked cherry tomatoes and a balsamic reduction, marinated olives with the house truffle bread, and a generous mixed board of Italian cured meats and cheeses with homemade jams. Pizzas — including the celebrated Norcina with buffalo mozzarella, sausage from Norcia, porcini and truffle cream — round out a menu that stays firmly within the Italian tradition without chasing novelty.

The wine cellar draws on carefully selected classics from Italy's best vineyards, making Campo de' Fiori as much a destination for wine as for food.

A Welcoming Space for Groups and Regulars Alike

Beyond the à la carte menu, Campo de' Fiori offers tailored group menus for parties of ten or more — from the sharing-style Tivoli menu to the more formal Roma menu built around entrecôte and homemade tiramisu. Pizza and pasta are always available gluten-free, and the kitchen delivers through Foodora for those who want a taste of authentic Italian food at home.

With over 580 "excellent" ratings on TripAdvisor and Gambero Rosso's stamp of approval, this Oslo Italian has earned its place as the city's most credible address for Roman-style cooking. Benvenuto.
