The story
Central Park Voorburg occupies a grand rijksmonument — a protected national heritage building — on the Oosteinde in Voorburg, just outside The Hague. The setting is not incidental: the grandeur of the architecture shapes the entire experience, and the kitchen leans into it with a classical yet contemporary French approach that feels entirely at home in these surroundings.
The white brigade is led by Chefs Tim Bood and Hette Hettema, whose cooking revolves around what each season genuinely has to offer. Guests choose between two menus: the Chefs Menu, which keeps the seasonal produce front and centre, and the Prestige Menu, which spotlights the most luxurious ingredients Tim and Hette work with. The seasonal French cuisine is precise, product-driven, and shaped by the rhythm of the calendar rather than a fixed repertoire.
In 2025, the Michelin Guide reaffirmed its confidence in the kitchen with a Michelin star — recognition that reflects the consistent quality at the heart of the restaurant.
The cellar at Central Park Voorburg is extraordinary by any measure: more than 2,750 wines spanning every corner of the world. Navigating it is made considerably more pleasurable by the black brigade, led by SVH Meestergastheer Joey de Kruijf and Sasja Moonen, whose role is to match each guest with a bottle that stays with them long after the meal. The wine programme has earned serious international attention — Gault & Millau named it Wine List of the Year in 2023, and Wine Spectator has honoured it with the Best of Award of Excellence, a distinction that places Central Park Voorburg among a select group of restaurants worldwide for the depth and curation of its cellar. Star Wine List has further recognised it with Silver Stars across multiple categories.
The restaurant opens for both lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday, and also caters to private parties and events — well suited to the scale and atmosphere of the building. Whether the occasion is a quiet weekday lunch or a celebratory dinner, the combination of accomplished seasonal French cooking and one of the most decorated wine lists in the Netherlands makes Central Park Voorburg a destination that rewards the visit.
