The story
Morton's, The Steakhouse traces its origins to a single moment in a Montreal Playboy Club kitchen, where co-founders Arnie Morton and Klaus Fritsch bonded over what they would later call the "Million-Dollar Hamburger." That chance encounter led to the opening of the first Morton's on State Street in Chicago in 1978, and the steakhouse has since grown to more than 65 locations worldwide — including this outpost on Avenida Paseo de las Palmas in Mexico City.
The guiding principle has never changed: quality, consistency, and genuine hospitality. The Mexico City location carries that same standard, welcoming guests whether they come for a business lunch, a leisurely dinner, or a private event.
Morton's built its reputation on USDA prime-aged beef — the top 2% of beef available in the United States — sourced from the same suppliers the company has used since day one. If a cut doesn't meet Morton's standards, it doesn't reach the plate. Beyond the steakhouse classics, the menu extends to fresh seafood: Chilean Sea Bass, Oysters on the Half Shell, Colossal Shrimp, and Red King Crab Legs, among others. Seasonal additions like Prime Bavette Steak Frites, Wagyu Beef Stroganoff, and Oysters Rockefeller keep the menu moving throughout the year.
The bar program — known as Bar 12-21 — runs alongside the dining room with hand-crafted classic cocktails, imported and local craft brews, and chef-selected bites, keeping the energy of the room alive well into the evening.
The wine program at Morton's is serious. Every location maintains a list of more than 300 wines, and the Mexico City steakhouse holds the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence — recognition that reflects a commitment to range, quality, and thoughtful pairing. From rare cult favorites to sommelier-selected by-the-glass options, the list is designed to complement every course. An on-site Wine Locker program is available for guests who want to take that relationship further, and General Managers and Sommeliers are on hand to guide the selection.
Morton's Mexico City offers private dining rooms suited to intimate gatherings and larger corporate functions alike. The space also hosts Prime Events — seasonal wine dinners and exclusive menus that bring a different dimension to the standard steakhouse visit.
