A Steakhouse Built Around Dry-Aged Beef

Marble 8 opened in May 2014 as the steakhouse arm of The Marini's Group, the dining and entertainment company founded by Italian-born Cavaliere Modesto Marini. Where Marini's on 57 made its name as Malaysia's most iconic rooftop Italian destination, Marble 8 was conceived with a singular focus: premium beef, aged in a custom-built dry-aging cellar on the premises. The restaurant first operated within the Kuala Lumpur City Centre precinct before relocating in 2017 to Level 56 of Petronas Tower 3, placing it one floor below its sibling venue and high above the city skyline.

The Vision Behind the Group

Cavaliere Modesto Marini grew up on family vineyards and farms in Italy, trained at one of Italy's leading culinary schools, and spent his formative years in fine dining kitchens across Italy, London, and Singapore before settling in Malaysia in 1995. In October 2016, the Italian Government awarded him the Ordine Della Stella D'Italia — one of its highest civilian honours — in recognition of his role promoting Italian food, wine, and culture abroad. The Star, Malaysia's leading English-language daily, has called him "The King of Italian Cuisine." Marble 8 reflects a different facet of his ambition: a dedicated steakhouse where the craft of dry-aging takes centre stage.

Recognition That Counts

Marble 8's wine programme has earned the Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence — a distinction the restaurant has held consistently, including in 2017, 2018, 2019, and again in 2023. That kind of sustained recognition signals not a one-off achievement but a genuinely serious cellar, curated to complement the richness of aged beef. The restaurant has also been named a Michelin Select restaurant and took the HAPA Restaurant of the Year title in the 2023/2024 Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards Malaysia series — making it one of the most decorated steakhouses in the country.
