The story
Situated on Level 3 of Nüwa at City of Dreams Macao, The Tasting Room - Prime Steak & Grill takes the steakhouse format seriously. The kitchen works with fruitwood charcoal and red oak, applying time-honored grilling techniques that draw out the natural aromas and textures of each cut rather than masking them. The result is beef that speaks for itself — precisely cooked, deeply flavored, and consistently executed.
The steakhouse sources exclusively from the upper tier of the beef world: 28-day dry- and wet-aged American Wagyu, prime Black Angus, and other high-quality beef, each brought to its optimal doneness. The Brandt Porterhouse stands out as a signature, a cut that showcases the kitchen's command of both heat and timing.
Leading the brigade is Chef de Cuisine Tolga Dağlı, whose background spans five-star hotels and award-winning restaurants across the globe. His approach balances classic steakhouse discipline with considered modern technique — an approach that has, by most accounts, placed The Tasting Room at the top of Macao's steakhouse rankings.
The wine program here is one of the more serious in the region. More than 2,000 bottles — rare, limited-edition, and vintage — line the cellar, and guests are encouraged to pair their meal thoughtfully from that selection. It is this commitment to the full table experience that earned the restaurant Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence in 2024, a recognition that reflects genuine depth rather than a curated shortlist.
Guests may also choose their own steak knife from a curated selection — a considered touch that signals how much attention goes into the overall experience. The dress code is smart casual, and the room carries the polished, unhurried atmosphere you would expect from a fine dining steakhouse of this caliber. Private event spaces are available for those looking to host in a more exclusive setting.
