The story
Set inside a classic courtyard house on the first level of The Venetian Macao, Pin Yue Xuan is designed for the kind of unhurried meals that matter — family lunches, relaxed dinners with friends, everyday gatherings that deserve something genuinely good. The atmosphere is warm and unpretentious, the dress code simply casual, and the cooking firmly rooted in time-honored Cantonese tradition.
Leading the kitchen is Executive Chef Darren Cheung Kam Tung, who began his culinary career in 2005. Trained with Le Cordon Bleu credentials and shaped by years working across prestigious restaurants in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao, Chef Darren brings a rare breadth of perspective to Cantonese cuisine. His cooking draws from both northern and southern Chinese culinary cultures, resulting in dishes that feel rooted yet quietly inventive.
The menu spans handmade dim sum, seasonal specialties, and signature plates that showcase the precision Cantonese cooking demands. Among the featured dishes: Steamed Brittany Lobster with Egg White in Seafood Broth, Honey Glazed Barbecued Pork, Crispy Sea Cucumber Filled with Pork and Salted Fish, and a Caramel Egg Pudding in Coconut that closes a meal on a gentle, satisfying note.
Pin Yue Xuan carries an impressive collection of accolades that speak to its consistency. Wine Spectator awarded the restaurant its Best of Award of Excellence — a mark of a wine list with serious depth and range, well suited to a Cantonese table. The Michelin Guide Hong Kong and Macao has selected it as a recommended restaurant, Forbes Travel Guide rates it Four Stars, and the South China Morning Post has included it in its 100 Top Tables guide multiple years running. Trip.Gourmet awarded it Platinum status in 2026.
For a restaurant that describes itself as "made for everyday moments," the recognition is quietly remarkable — and entirely earned.
