The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Where 1930s Glamour Meets Modern French Artistry

Inside MGM Macau, Aux Beaux Arts draws on the spirit of a classic Parisian brasserie — mahogany walls, vintage cast-iron details, copper tones, and art deco accents that feel genuinely earned rather than decorative. The main dining room overlooks the Grande Praça, and a sunlit terrace beneath a soaring glass atrium offers one of the more serene lunch settings in the city. The atmosphere is convivial rather than stiff: European elegance adapted to Macau's cosmopolitan pace.

The Chef Behind the Kitchen

Michelin-starred Chef Olivier Elzer brings more than 30 years of experience to the table, with a career spanning kitchens that collectively hold 30 Michelin stars. His guiding philosophy — classic French technique refined by modern creativity and local influences — shapes what he calls "New Classics": dishes rooted in tradition but alive with contemporary craft. As creative director, he also draws on art and culture to shape the broader dining experience, and he remains actively involved in mentoring younger talent.

French Cuisine Across Every Hour

The kitchen moves fluidly through the day. Weekday lunches offer two, three, or four courses of classic French cuisine, designed for an unhurried midday. Weekend brunch expands into a six-course affair, blending traditional French flavors with seasonal creativity. The French Classics Set Menu infuses each dish with local flair alongside the timeless techniques. On weekend afternoons, an afternoon tea beneath the glass canopy adds a lighter, seasonal dimension to the offering.

The ABA Bar and Its Cellar

Adjacent to the main dining room, the ABA Bar captures the same Parisian brasserie mood — high-backed chairs, satin sofas, checkered floors — while housing a wine program that earned Wine Spectator's Grand Award, one of the most rigorous recognitions in the world of restaurant wine. The list, curated by expert sommeliers, spans fine Champagne, rare spirits, and vintages that balance tradition with modern sensibility. It's equally suited to a pre-dinner glass or a late-night nightcap, with live Star Band performances on Friday and Saturday evenings adding another layer to the room's character.

Recognition That Holds Up

Beyond the Wine Spectator Grand Award, Aux Beaux Arts has accumulated a broad range of accolades — including gold medal recognition, top French restaurant honors, and best wine list distinctions across Asia — reflecting a sustained standard rather than a single good year. For French cuisine in Macau, it remains a consistent benchmark.
