Cracco Peck

Chef Carlo Cracco's Milan restaurant blends innovative and traditional Italian cuisine inside the iconic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, one of Milan's most storied arcades, Ristorante Cracco occupies a space where architecture, art, and modern Italian cuisine converge without compromise. Chef Carlo Cracco has built something genuinely multi-layered here: a café at street level, a fine-dining restaurant above it, a wine cellar below, and event spaces that each carry their own distinct character.

The Restaurant

The first-floor dining room is introduced by a grey-blue boiserie that leads into three rooms and two private spaces. The menu moves between the unexpected and the familiar — a caramelised Russian salad, marinated egg yolk with light Parmigiano Reggiano fondue and balsamic vinegar, a risotto with saffron and grilled bone marrow, a "Milanese" veal fillet, and a classic tiramisù to close. The "Convito Felice" tasting menu extends further: black quail egg with caviar and almonds, steamed lobster with avocado, kiwi and coriander, turbot loin in whitebait sauce with sage and Moscato, stuffed pigeon with Savoy cabbage, and rice with zabaione and charred orange. Sous chef Luca Sacchi works alongside Cracco in the kitchen.

Within the restaurant, the Art Déco-inspired Fumoir — its walls lined with moss-green metallic thread — offers a more intimate setting with oysters, spaghetti with caviar, and a special Spigaroli selection.

This relentless pursuit of harmony between tradition and innovation earned Ristorante Cracco a place at number 42 in The World's 50 Best Restaurants in 2007, recognition that confirmed the kitchen's standing on the international stage.

The Café and Wine Cellar

Ground-floor Café Cracco, with its hand-painted walls and mosaics echoing the Galleria's exterior, opens daily from breakfast through to post-theatre drinks. Brioches, pastries, and single portions are prepared in the workshop upstairs; the outdoor terrace serves aperitifs and informal meals, including the restaurant's iconic pizza. The café does not take reservations.

Downstairs, the wine cellar is fitted with fir and glass shelving against red lacquered walls. Sommelier Gianluca Sanso oversees a selection of over 2,000 labels and more than 10,000 bottles, weighted towards Italian and French wines, available for both purchase and tasting.

Art and Space

The Galleria Cracco project, developed in collaboration with Sky Arte and Cantine Ferrari, commissions site-specific works from leading contemporary artists for the mezzanine lunettes — visible around the clock to anyone passing through the Galleria. Patrick Tuttofuoco's Heterochromic inaugurated the series, transforming two lunettes into neon eyes — those of Carlo Cracco and Rosa Fanti — as a reflection on identity shared between art and Italian cuisine.
