The story
Al Larin da Bepo brings Venetian cuisine to Vittorio Veneto through a space rooted in rural hospitality. Patron Bepo opened the doors in 1981 inside an early twentieth century farmhouse that originally functioned as a village osteria. The establishment takes its name from the local dialect word for hearth, which describes the active charcoal pit that still anchors the main dining room. Roberta maintains the property alongside Bepo, ensuring the unpretentious service remains unchanged since the first service.
Recognized with the ilGolosario Faccino Radioso award for its steady execution, the regional cooking program focuses on precise fire management. Chefs prepare Scottona Nazionale and Angus Irlandese à vista, letting the live coals define the final texture. Pan fried potato gnocchi arrive tossed with brown butter and flat leaf parsley, while homemade tagliatelle absorb a slow simmered venison ragù. The menu shifts with autumn harvests, introducing roasted wild boar and spiedini of chicken and rabbit.
Guest areas branch outward from the central fire, offering a quiet window alcove that frames the rolling hills between Vittorio Veneto and Conegliano. Larger parties gather in a dedicated upper floor room designed for long work lunches and seasonal celebrations. Warm evenings move outdoors to the exposed terrace, where diners watch the light settle over nearby Prosecco vineyards. Traditional Veneto cuisine pairs cleanly with bottles from Bellenda and Masottina, followed by simple almond pastries and warm chocolate tortes.
