Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG) Chef Hat Awards — Australia's longest-running national restaurant awards (guide founded 1977, Chef Hats since 1982). Anonymous inspectors pay their way and score the food alone out of 20, French style; a 20 has never been awarded. Published scores run 12–19: 18–19 Superlative Food & Wine (worth a special journey), 16–17 Exceptional Quality of Cuisine (worth a detour), 14–15 Food Quite Out of the Ordinary (worth a stop on the way), 12–13 A Good Restaurant in its category (Commended).
