The story

Eatrenalin Rust: Multisensory Fine Dining in Europa-Park

The architecture of curiosity

Thomas Mack and Oliver Altherr designed Eatrenalin in Rust to pioneer a structured form of experiential cuisine that treats motion as a narrative device. Their blueprint replaces traditional table service with a choreographed progression through seven distinct environmental zones. Every architectural choice supports the pacing of the meal without overwhelming the palate.

Chef-driven collaborations

Peter Hagen-Wiest directs the kitchen after bringing his tenure at the two-Michelin-starred Ammolite to Baden. He builds the eight-course sequence around contributions from visiting specialists like Hans Neuner and Dieter Koschina. The resulting plates merge coastal Portuguese methods with East Asian fermentation, highlighted by a bright crustacean tom yum and a deeply savory miso-glazed red mullet within their evolving fine dining cuisine.

Weightless transitions and acoustic design

Guests settle into patented floating chairs engineered by MACK Rides, each unit containing nearly two thousand mechanical components. These specialized seats glide through curated spaces while custom soundtracks adjust to match the temperature and projection of each room. The sequence moves from liquid reflections in the ocean zone to a final dessert delivered on a suspended platform in the incarnation chamber.

Measured acclaim

This disciplined approach to multisensory cuisine earned immediate validation when the venue received a Michelin star within its first operational season. Industry reviewers at Der Feinschmecker noted the seamless pacing between visual spectacle and flavor delivery. The project also secured the TEA Thea Award, confirming that deliberate staging can transform routine hospitality into something distinctly memorable.
