Since 2014, Standard Serious Pizza has been doing exactly what its name promises — taking pizza seriously. With four locations spread across Berlin, the project has grown from a single address on Templiner Strasse into something closer to a city institution, held together by a consistent philosophy: good ingredients, honest craft, and a table where people actually want to sit.

The kitchen draws on the traditions of modern Italian pizza-making while leaving room for creativity and seasonal thinking. Toppings like Baccalà Mantecato, Seasonal Wild Greens, and Mortadella signal a kitchen that looks beyond the obvious, sourcing with care — including Pomodorino del Piennolo del Vesuvio DOP tomatoes, grown on the volcanic slopes of Vesuvius and prized across southern Italy for their intensity. La Nostra Pizza Scarpariella, rooted in Neapolitan tradition, is another marker of how seriously the team takes its references.

That commitment to quality has not gone unnoticed. Gambero Rosso, Italy's most authoritative food guide and one of the few publications that evaluates pizza with the same rigour it applies to fine dining, awarded Standard Serious Pizza 2 Slices — a meaningful recognition for a modern Italian pizza restaurant operating outside Italy.

The natural wine list rounds out the offer in a way that feels considered rather than decorative — described by the team themselves as being "for people who think they don't like natural wine," which says something about the tone of the place: confident, a little playful, never precious.
