The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

An Eagle's Nest Above the Mediterranean

Perched on a limestone peak between Nice and Monaco, in the heart of the medieval village of Èze, La Chèvre d'Or has been one of the French Riviera's most singular addresses since 1953. The setting alone is extraordinary — a historic château where the view sweeps across the entire Mediterranean coastline — but it is the cooking that has earned the establishment its place among France's most celebrated tables.

Two Stars, a New Chapter

La Chèvre d'Or holds two Michelin stars, and in 2024 the kitchen passed to Chef Tom Meyer, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France — France's highest craft distinction for artisans and chefs. Meyer now leads the gastronomic restaurant as well as the property's more relaxed dining spaces: Les Remparts, the bistronomic restaurant; Le Café du Jardin, an open-air experience; and room service across the château. His arrival marks what the house describes as "a new culinary chapter" in the restaurant's long history, bringing a fresh interpretation of French cuisine to a room already steeped in Riviera legend.

The Cellar and the Table

The Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence — received in 2024 — reflects the depth and curation of the wine program, a fitting complement to cooking of this ambition. French cuisine at this level demands a cellar with range and precision, and the recognition confirms that the pairing between kitchen and cave is taken seriously here.

Atmosphere and Setting

Dining at La Chèvre d'Or is inseparable from where you are. The château's refined atmosphere, the panorama over the sea, and the discreet luxury of the surroundings create a context that few restaurants anywhere can match. The Michelin Guide's recognition of Tom Meyer's dishes in its 2026 Top 10 Favourite Dishes list suggests the cooking is now rising to meet that setting fully.
