L'Arche Des Vins

The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

A Beaune Institution Born from Friendship and Passion

At the heart of Beaune, on the quiet Rue Poterne, L'Arche des Vins is the project of Félix and Romain — childhood friends who grew up in the city, trained and worked in wine and commerce across France and abroad, then came home to open the kind of place they always wanted: one that reflects their own tastes and the vignerons they genuinely love.

The result is a dual-space establishment that earned Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence in 2025 — recognition that speaks directly to the seriousness and depth of what's in the glass here.

The Wine Bar

On the bar side, the French kitchen is led by chef Lambert, whose seasonal menu shifts regularly with arrivals and inspiration. The food takes a tapas-inflected approach — refined, flavourful, and always conceived to sit alongside wine rather than compete with it. The Spanish influence comes through in the small-plates format, making it easy to graze and explore across several glasses.

Wines by the glass rotate frequently, and a spirits list adds another dimension for those who want to venture beyond the bottle. When the weather allows, a terrace opens up — a rare pleasure in this part of Beaune.

The Cellar

The caviste arm of L'Arche des Vins is overseen by Solène, who guides visitors through a selection built around the finest Burgundy references, alongside bottles from other French regions and producers from around the world. Old vintages and wines at peak maturity are a particular strength — something harder to find in a standard wine shop.

Events and the Sommelier Team

Chef sommelier Faustin leads a team of experienced sommeliers whose shared enthusiasm shapes every recommendation. Monthly dinners invite a guest chef to create a menu of their choosing, paired with the house wine list — an ongoing series that keeps the programme fresh and the room lively.

The space can also be privatised, in full or in part, for private dinners, corporate events, and tastings — a natural fit given the depth of expertise on hand.
