The story
Tucked along Guldbergsgade in Copenhagen's Nørrebro neighbourhood, Mirabelle is a small, quietly remarkable Italian eatery that wears its ambitions lightly. Founded by celebrated chef Christian Puglisi — a name long associated with boundary-pushing Nordic dining — Mirabelle marks a personal and culinary homecoming. According to the 2025 White Guide, Puglisi is "back in top form," channelling his craft into something more intimate and instinctive: a neighbourhood Italian with a distinct lean toward the green.
Mirabelle operates as a surdejsbageri (sourdough bakery), café, and evening restaurant all under one roof — a combination that feels entirely natural given the warmth of the space. The Italian eatery's cuisine tilts confidently toward vegetables and seasonal produce, embracing restraint and quality over complexity. Evenings run from 17:00 to 22:00, when the room transforms into a destination for those who know that the finest Italian cooking is as much about philosophy as it is about flavour.
The White Guide describes the space as "cozy and easy to take in," a fitting backdrop for food that invites you to slow down and pay attention.
One of Mirabelle's most quietly extraordinary assets is its sommelier — a figure whose credentials include a stint at the legendary 11 Madison Park in New York. The wine list centres exclusively on Sicily's three wine regions, a focused and passionate selection that mirrors the Italian eatery's commitment to depth over breadth. Guests have been treated to pours like the Piripicchio 2028 from Vendemmia — grown on the slopes of Etna, full-bodied with notes of blueberry and balsamic, yet simultaneously fresh and light. It is the kind of wine that arrives with a story, told with Italian enthusiasm.
Mirabelle was recognised by the White Guide 2025 at "Very fine level" — a reflection of the kitchen's consistency, the front-of-house attentiveness, and the singular vision that ties it all together. The restaurant is currently undergoing a brief renovation ahead of its return in 2026. It will be back soon, and by all accounts, well worth the wait.
