The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

A Prague Institution with Roots in 1993

Kogo Slavic House sits on Na Příkopě, one of Prague's most storied thoroughfares, and carries with it more than three decades of hospitality. The group behind it — Kogo Group — traces its origins to 1993, when founder and owner Jovo Savić opened a modest café on Havelská Street in the city centre. What began as a small venue gradually evolved into a full restaurant, and then into a group of establishments united by a single, clearly stated set of values.

Savić puts it plainly: "A good meal, drink and friends – that's the combination that tells stories and creates beautiful moments in life. As a restaurant operator I cannot wish for more but to provide our guests with all these necessary elements that give birth to these special moments, whether it is an important business meeting or a romantic dinner." That philosophy has guided every decision since.

Quality and Consistency at the Core

From the outset, Kogo Group built its identity around quality ingredients, fair practices and staff who treat guests with genuine attentiveness — the kind of environment, as they describe it, where customers feel at home and choose to return. Those commitments earned the restaurant recognition from Gambero Rosso, the respected Italian food and wine guide, which awarded Kogo its fork distinction — a mark of reliability and quality that carries weight in fine dining circles.

The Slavic House location, housed within the elegant Slovanský dům complex, extends the group's reach into one of Prague's most architecturally significant settings. The venue caters to a wide range of occasions: leisurely lunches, formal dinners, private parties, seasonal celebrations and corporate events. Outdoor seating and a wine cellar round out an offer that moves comfortably between everyday dining and special-occasion fine dining.

Seasonal Moments and Ongoing Traditions

The restaurant marks the calendar with purpose — St. Martin's Goose in November, festive Christmas Eve menus, Valentine's Day dinners — seasonal events that reflect a kitchen attuned to tradition. Gift cards are available for those who want to share the experience. Sister concepts Gilda Pinxtos & Tapas and Puro Gelato operate alongside Kogo under the same group umbrella, reflecting an appetite for considered expansion without losing sight of what made the original work.

For anyone seeking a reliable, well-regarded table in central Prague, Kogo Slavic House remains a considered and enduring choice.
