The story

Crafted with passion, served with love

Above Meads Bay, Where the View Sets the Table

Celeste by Kerth Gumbs sits perched above one of Anguilla's most pristine stretches of white sand, with the azure Caribbean Sea stretching to the horizon. The mood is classic, relaxed, and beachy — a setting where panoramic sunset views and serious cooking meet without either one upstaging the other.

The restaurant draws on the freshest seasonal produce and sea-to-table catch, shaping dishes that are inventive and playful while staying rooted in the genuine flavors of the island. Guests can follow a signature tasting menu or choose from à la carte options, each crafted to stand on its own and to pair with what is, by any measure, an exceptional wine program.

The Kitchen Behind the Name

Two chefs drive the culinary direction at Malliouhana. Culinary Director Kelston "Sweets" Connor was born in Saint Kitts and raised in Anguilla, and his cooking reflects that biography — local dishes elevated with an elegant touch, always anchored in the flavors and spirit of the island. His path to the kitchen began early: as a student, he and classmates opened an in-school restaurant, and the conviction that followed has shaped everything since. "It is a journey ahead, but this is something that I definitely love doing," he has said.

Executive Chef Wilson Macedo brings a different geography to the table. Born in Huambo, Angola, his cooking weaves together classic French technique, Mediterranean sensibility, and the island's rich culinary heritage — a combination that earned him a place as a competitor on MasterChef: The Professionals in 2022. "Creating uniquely memorable dishes, I'm living my dream every day," Macedo has said. Together, the two chefs give Celeste its distinctive Caribbean-Mediterranean character.

A Wine Program Worth the Recognition

Celeste holds the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence — recognition that reflects the depth and range of its wine list. The program was curated by sommelier Shelley Lindgren, a James Beard Award winner, alongside Malliouhana's original sommelier Albert Lake. The list spans a wide range of varietals, styles, and price points, designed to complement both the Caribbean-inspired cuisine and the more Mediterranean-leaning preparations on the menu. It is the kind of wine selection that rewards the curious and satisfies the decisive in equal measure.

What to Expect

Breakfast and dinner are served daily, with dinner running from 6 pm through 9:30 pm. Outdoor seating means the sea air and the last light of the day are part of every evening meal. The combination of a thoughtfully built Caribbean and Mediterranean menu, a recognized wine list, and that view above Meads Bay makes Celeste one of the more complete dining experiences available anywhere in the Caribbean.
