A Wine Bar That Puts Harmony First

Somm opened its doors in 2016 with a singular ambition: to be a place for quality wine. From the start, the team curated the largest wine selection in Lithuania, focusing on bottles full of character, complexity, and elegance. They see themselves as ambassadors for the wines of France, Italy, and Austria. This dedication to the vine quickly earned them recognition from international publications like Wine Spectator and Star Wine List, and in 2024 they were included in the first-ever Michelin Guide Lithuania as a recommended restaurant. The Michelin inspectors returned in 2025 to reaffirm that status.

Modern Cuisine Built for Pairing

The kitchen at Somm is concise but diverse, updated daily to match the wines. The menu is built around the idea of harmony between glass and plate. Appetizers range from marinated olives and a charcuterie plate to smoked eel and a classic vitello tonnato. Raw preparations feature a venison and beef tartare, mackerel sashimi, stone bass ceviche, and tuna tataki. Hot pans include prawns with carrots and celery, and a portobello mushroom with onion jam and goat cheese.

Main courses are straightforward and satisfying: an octopus leg, sea bream fillet, Argentine beef entrecote, and lamb rump steak. Desserts like churros with tonka bean sauce, salted caramel fondant, and crème brûlée offer a sweet finish. For the full experience, the four-course tasting dinner (€100 per person) pairs each dish with a glass of wine selected by the sommelier, who tells the story behind every pour. A recent tasting menu featured hamachi with mango and passionfruit, gnocchi with Iberico and Grana Padano, venison tenderloin with eggplant and mustard, and a tiramisu.

The atmosphere is welcoming, with an outdoor seating area for warmer months and air conditioning inside. Private dining spaces are available for celebrations or gatherings.
