The story
In the harbour village of St. Aubin, enotèca brings together the best of Italian tradition and Jersey’s larder with a clear philosophy: natural wine and cucina tipica. The restaurant, run by Jersey-born Kate and chef Marcello from Modena, Emilia-Romagna, earned a Michelin Recommended status in 2026 – a nod to their honest, ingredient-driven cooking.
Cucina tipica here means typical Italian dishes made with local produce. Marcello works with Jersey farmers and fishermen, sourcing sustainable fish, beef, and seasonal vegetables, while also importing Italian artisan ingredients like Parmigiano Reggiano, San Marzano tomatoes, and organic spelt flour. The result is a menu that feels both regional and rooted in place.
The natural wine list is a project in itself. enotèca sources directly from small-scale producers who use organic and biodynamic methods, often with no additives. This ethical approach extends to every bottle, from the bright Grechetto whites to the Lambrusco sparklers, all chosen to complement the food.
The menu changes with the seasons, but you can expect handmade pasta like lasagne alla Bolognese made with local beef and fresh spinach pasta, or tortelloni filled with local crab. The sourdough pizza – made with organic British spelt and Mount Vulture olive oil – comes in classic and inventive versions, including a Modenese with ciccoli, radicchio, and balsamic vinegar. Panini, gelato, and a weekend gelateria round out the offer.
enotèca is intimate, unfussy, and deeply connected to its surroundings – a place where Italian cuisine meets the best of the island.
