The story
In the heart of Guernsey’s historic Market Square, Alba brings together wood-fired cooking and a small plate menu rooted in classic French, Spanish and Italian flavours, with influences from further afield. The kitchen works with many local ingredients, turning out dishes that range from Hand-Made Pappardelle with Rose Veal and Pork Ragu to Char-Grilled Creedy Carver Organic Duck with Confit Duck Fat Potatoes. The menu also features sushi-grade Tuna Tartare, Plancha Cod with bacon and samphire, and a selection of vegetable dishes like Homemade Gnocchi with Sage Butter.
The restaurant has been recognised with a Michelin Bib Gourmand, an award that highlights good quality, good value cooking. It is featured in the MICHELIN Guide and described as “a gem of a restaurant.”
Downstairs, the bar takes inspiration from 1920s Cuba and Mexico, with an extensive collection of tequila and rum. The cocktail list concentrates on margaritas and daiquiris, alongside modern classics. Regular DJ sets add to the atmosphere.
Alba also offers a Private Dining Room upstairs, which can host up to 30 guests for drinks and canapés, sit-down meals, or wine pairing dinners. The space is available for private parties and events.
Whether for a relaxed lunch, an intimate dinner, or drinks at the bar, Alba provides a welcoming setting for modern cuisine in Saint Peter Port.
